Common Sense Goes Viral

My apologies for falling behind on my Primary Source updates. Over the last couple of months, the federal enforcement actions against California’s insane policies have ramped up and I’ve been knee deep in advocacy for California girls and women. I will get back to regularly posting Primary Source soon.

In the meantime, here is my viral interview with Brianna Keilar on CNN in case you haven’t seen it:

I wish we weren’t living in a time where common sense statements are so shocking that they go viral on the internet, but here we are.

Please, use your adult voice to speak up on behalf of the children who are intimidated into silence. It is up to us to restore sanity and fairness—not the kids. I wish we had a rational governor and legislature in the State of California and could expect a repeal or suspension of AB 1266, codified at Education Code 221.5(f), but alas, we do not.

Due to the conflict between California law and policy and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, California and its school districts are careening toward financial disaster.

If you are aware of a district violating federal laws and accepting federal funds, you can bring a whistleblower lawsuit to enforce the False Claims Act. The USDOJ Civil Rights Fraud Initiative is not just for enforcement of Title IX, but also for racial discrimination in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, among other federal statutes.

Finally, if you appreciate the work I am doing, please consider a donation to nonprofit California Policy Center. The California Policy Center funds my work, and I would not be able to do this without their support.
